This year, on Thursday, September 19, 2024, the Derrick James Family Foundation is participating in North Texas Giving Day for the second year. We are raising funds to support our mission of giving disenfranchised youth and families across Dallas a fighting chance at a successful future. Our programs are designed to knock out obstacles that limit opportunities in the areas of education, mental health and wellness, sports, and financial stability.

• Provide over 500 clear backpacks to students in the Dallas area.
• Provide 6 local high school seniors $5000 college scholarships each for the next four years ($120,000 total scholarship award).
• Established a $50,000 pediatric mental hospital endowment with Children’s Health Dallas.
• Provide mental health speaker to approximately 200 male students at O.W. Holmes Middle School in DISD to discuss the importance of mental health.
